Haluwa

In the himalayan city of Keylong (India), we stayed in a very friendly hotel called Snowland. They opened a second building with more rooms and a new restaurant during the time we were there. At the opening day all the people from the village were invited to stop by and look at the new facilities.
Every visitor got a small plate of a sweet indian dish called Haluwa.

Ingredients:

  • Semolina
  • Sugar Syrup
  • Butter
  • Raisins
  • Dried fruit
  • Water

Fry the semolina in butter until it gets brown. Add sugar syrup and keep stirring. Add raisins and dried fruits afterwards. Its ready now, however you can add a little water to make it smoother if you wish. Serve hot or cold on a little plate with a teaspoon.
